Ah, the first day. She had been in a ... car. Angry.
"Yes," she said, no change in expression or body language.
Was she going to get angry here, too?

"I harbor no ill will against you," she said, and maybe her voice was just a tad softer. It must have been hard to have these monsters show up in a world that had grown so comfortable. "Your reaction was understandable."

After a pause, she asked, "Why are you here?"
no subject
Well.
"A friend asked me to come. She didn't want to attend alone, so." Alison shrugged. "Figured it couldn't hurt." And a part of her wanted to be where Eileen was in case anything happened.

There was no judgment, only honest curiosity in her voice.

It took her a moment to formulate a response after the shock of it, but when she spoke, it was calm and with a pleasant smile, as if she were discussing the weather. "My cafe was torn apart by a Saftan swamp-drake, and a dyadavias tried to get into my home and eat my dogs. I figure if I'm going to get eaten sooner or later, I might as well keep doing things."
In other words, 'no'.

What may have come as a surprise was her apology. A quiet, "I'm sorry," simple. Noelle did not consider herself the reason for these attacks, but she sympathized.

Would Zen ever run out of monsters? Alison pondered that. If things that crossed-over could respawn, there'd be a literal endless supply, but if they vanished after crossing over... Maybe she'd check on that at some point, if she could figure out how.
"You've got a place and everything? Don't need anything?"
no subject
Adjust. Yes. She was adjusting. They were adjusting, too, those with survival instincts.
"I have a place, but not everything," she said truthfully, and seriously, too. "I need materials to craft elemental arrows; I have been gathering them from the monsters I have felled."
no subject
"If you got me a list of things you could use, I could try to keep an eye out," she offered. Maybe share the list with the others. Surely providing those who could use them with materials was a good cause.

"I'm not certain of the wisdom in associating too closely with me..." she murmured, as if trying to parse this out aloud. Was accepting Alison's offer 'close'? It implied Alison knew what she was, not that it was difficult to mistake her as anything but, Noelle thought.
What were Alison's thoughts on XDAV? She wondered. Were they as negative as Jordan's?

With a shrug, she looked back to Noelle, pulling out a business card with her cell number on it, holding it out. "I'm not worried, but I won't press. If you change your mind, however..."

"I should get back to my friend," Alison said, glancing around. Where had Eileen gone off to, anyway...? "Before she starts to think I abandoned her." Her gaze returned to Noelle. "Good luck with your hunts. And if you need anything," she nodded to the card. "Can't promise much, but you never know."

It was meant to be helpful advice, but... perhaps not an appropriate farewell.
no subject
It was useful advice, given that Alison had never... killed anything herself, before.
