[Suddenly we have almost the entire cast of the game in the same place at the same time! What does that mean? REUNION THREADS!]

[Here is an open post for all your threading needs! This should make it easier to have mingling threads, open threads, random encounters, multiple participants, etc etc etc]

[Basically any characters you'd like to have meeting up in the new, merged Bastan may do so here. Stick a time in your subjectline and if you're doing it on a day other than Sunday (this post is good for all of week 32), add a date tag for it. Go wild!]

[Anais shrugs.]

The university required someone to instruct it's students in swordsmanship. I am uncertain if I am cut out for it.

[Ah, well... it'll be over with soon, anyway, unless they decide to keep her on for some reason.]

[Lera tilts her head at that. Really? Anais seems like she'd be a good teacher...]

Oh, come now, I'm sure you did fine!

Perhaps.

[Anais isn't sure about that, though, if only because some of her students still have blocking issues, so... NEW TOPIC]

I understand you helped liberate Bastan. Thank you.

[firecracker_hopping]

[Lera nods her head at that, slightly more sober.]

Of course! Ah, it was the least I could do. That knife you gave me came in handy during that, too, actually.

[vallinar]

[Wait, what? Lera's the Mazda now, isn't she? Surely, she has better weapons to use than that knife she sent her.]

It did?

[firecracker_hopping]

I was disarmed once in the fight, so very!

[She does have better weapons, but something's better than nothing!]

Oh. Oh dear.

[Anais wouldn't know what to do if she didn't have her sword. Being disarmed is, like the worst thing ever.]

Well, I am glad it could be useful. [Wait, was that insensitive?] And that you are alive, of course.

[firecracker_hopping]

[It doesn't strike Lera as insensitive, at least! She just smiles and nods her head.]

It was. Ah, you heard about my... erm, "promotion?"

[vallinar]

It was hard not to hear about it. The press conference was televised. [Not that Anais watched all of it, but she saw enough to know Lera got promoted.]

[firecracker_hopping]

I almost forgot! I meant to write you, but it would be an understatement to say that I got busy afterward. [There's a bit of a weak laugh with that.]

Do not worry about it. I am not going to be upset just because you did not write to me.

[firecracker_hopping]

Glad to hear it! [Cue another big, bright smile.] What have you been up to, besides teaching at the school? I heard some about the sicknesses and the like...

[vallinar]

Yes. There were.

[Anais makes a face. She really doesn't want to talk about that.]

Well, there was a lamia before the sicknesses started. She kidnapped several people. Apart from that, Earth has not been particularly interesting.

[firecracker_hopping]

Quiet is probably for the best, all things considered. I imagine you're relieved to, ah, have everything back?

[vallinar]

[Anais frowns. She knows she should be relieved and happy to be back, but she's not sure any more, starting the minute Tavan disappeared.]

It is good to be home, yes.

[Although that wasn't really what Lera was asking, was it?]

[firecracker_hopping]

[It wasn't and she notices. One eyebrow goes up and she tilts her head to the side, wondering about it. Time in Zenderael has changed her and where she might have let it slide, that increased confidence leaves her feeling more sure of asking.]

[Or maybe the word is 'meddling.']

Not quite what I meant... ah, I'll leave it alone if you'd prefer.

[Anais frowns. She supposes lying to a guild leader is a bad thing, even if it isn't her own, but she really doesn't want to answer that question when she isn't sure of the answer.]

You are within your rights to ask, Miss Savinkov, but I am uncertain I can answer the question.

[firecracker_hopping]

[The use of the formal address is a little weird, Lera reflects. She's gotten used to being called 'Mazda' or 'Admiral Savinkov.' 'Miss Savinkov' feels strange, now, but she doesn't correct it. It reminds her of old days.]

Well... if you ever need to talk about it, I'll listen.

[vallinar]

[She does, Lera. Ohhh she does :( Anais isn't usually the most forthcoming about these kinds of things, but she has the feeling it's going to drive her crazy if she doesn't talk about it with someone.

She gives Lera a little nod.]

Would now be a bad time?

[firecracker_hopping]

Sure. Out in the hall or do you wanna move somewhere else?

Somewhere else, I think.

[Aaand Anais just starts heading towards one of the empty classrooms. There is infinitely better than the hallway.]

[firecracker_hopping]

Sure.

[Lera follows along, then! And feels a little weird. She hasn't been in a classroom in ages.]

[Once they're both inside and Anais has closed the door, she sighs and props her sword up against the wall, completely ignorant to the fact that Lera might feel weird about being in a classroom.

She's a little hesitant as she speaks again.]

There was someone who had been staying with me. Not Lynea, another. He left this morning. I knew it might happen eventually, but now that he is gone, I do not know how I should feel about being back.

[firecracker_hopping]

[Lera has Lynea and Anais's arrangement completely wrong. She assumes they're more like roommates stuck with each other. The idea she'd really have doubts about Lynea doesn't come to mind. This, though, makes sense.]

Ah... like you might have gotten attached to how things were for you on Earth? Do you wish it could stay the same?

[vallinar]

I do not know.

[That's the part that kills her, because, really, she wants to be happy she has the paladins around her again, but, at the same time, she's had a few months to adjust to not having them be there. And now that Tavan's gone, she imagines it's only a matter of time before Lynea leaves, too.

She feels like she should be happy about that, but she's not and she isn't sure why.]

Is it normal to feel that way?
