[EVENT] Phase II reunions!
Who: OPEN!
When: Week 32
Where: Bastan/Fall City/Underwood
Before/After: After the Phase II merge
Warnings: TBA
[Suddenly we have almost the entire cast of the game in the same place at the same time! What does that mean? REUNION THREADS!]
[Here is an open post for all your threading needs! This should make it easier to have mingling threads, open threads, random encounters, multiple participants, etc etc etc]
[Basically any characters you'd like to have meeting up in the new, merged Bastan may do so here. Stick a time in your subjectline and if you're doing it on a day other than Sunday (this post is good for all of week 32), add a date tag for it. Go wild!]

He set a hand on Ravindra's shoulder, thought about it for a second, decided he might need a running start, and removed it and took a step backward instead.
"This has been an enjoyable -- if short -- friendship. It has been nice knowing you, I wish you well in all your endeavors, I kind of murdered his sister."
no subject
The answer almost got lost in all the inexplicable farewelling Nova was doing, but Ravi managed to catch it. It took a few seconds to separate it from the rest of his words and parse it.
But once he did, his expression flattened. "What."
no subject
"Payback for a tragedy he put in my friend's life. But a terrible idea! But actually she's back now! And he became the -- the -- the leader of the clerics and brought me back too but not because he forgave me or anything but that's how she came back too. But I heard she's blind so it didn't exactly get undone..."
no subject
That was not outrage. Just pure shock.
Heimdall was not allowed to be a guild leader! He especially wasn't allowed to be one of Bastan's guild leaders!
omg this was terrible
forget the part about nova murdering missie, that didn't even matter anymore

Nova took a deep breath to calm himself. At least Ravindra had not decided to arrest him or perform some other act of impromptu justice (did paladins do impromptu justice).
"A friend who was there when it happened said the cleric leader refused to do any resurrections and had a private talk with him and when she went back into the room he was dead. And then he threatened her into destroying the body so I guess he killed him out of desperation..."
no subject
Wait, but Nova had murdered Missie first, and Duncan shooting him for killing his sister was probably the same kind of response Ravi would've had, and then if the Vahishta was right there but refusing to resurrect her...
Okay no but this was Heimdall, it was different.

"You had a rivalry with Heimdall, so you killed his sister, and then he killed you, and then the Vahishta was there but wouldn't resurrect anyone, so Heimdall killed the Vahishta and resurrected both of you?" If he sounded skeptical, it was because there were still pieces that didn't quite fit. Like, why resurrect Nova at all...? (Not that Ravi preferred this option, it was just puzzling.)
no subject
Every couple of words had been nonsense; that was hard to follow even knowing the story of how things had gone.

He waved a hand a little. "So that was like 'rivalry with bladdazoo, killed bladdafladdle...' "

"Don't people lose things in the Dark a lot? I assumed it could be something different for everyone."
no subject
But then, what had Victor lost? Nothing that Ravi had noticed. He looked perplexed for a moment as he considered this. ...He hadn't spoken with Victor much since his resurrection, come to think of it. That was a depressing thought. Maybe he should write, now that the dragons seemed to be working again.
...and ask whether he'd lost anything in the Dark...? Was that appropriate?
Fuck, was there etiquette about resurrection too?
He looked distinctly troubled for a few seconds before yanking himself out of his thoughts and back to his present context.
"Ravindra," he said. "You wanted me to write it down for you?"
no subject
He produced a colored index card from his bag; he seemed to have a set of them, and offered it along with an earth-style ballpoint pen.
"Wait, does this mean you're still going to keep speaking to me?"
no subject
He still didn't quite have a clear picture of the situation, ie Nova killing Missie for no good reason rather than because the rivalry had naturally escalated to that point.
no subject
The expression was perhaps a little unnerving considering the grimness of the crime.
no subject
Just in case, he included his rank as well, so it said 'Sergeant Ravindra Savarna' with the Ravindra underlined. He didn't know if Nova could remember ranks, or if it would ever come in handy to have that, but it certainly couldn't hurt.
He handed back the card and the pen.
no subject
Nova took it back and examined it. He could read and recognize the sergeant part just fine, and wondered why Ravindra had included it. Did he want him to start using his rank in conversation?
Either way...
He held the card against his hand as a makeshift surface, and proceeded to draw a passable cartoon likeness of Ravindra next to the name, with prominent eyebrows, flowing hair, and an endearingly grouchy expression.
He flipped it to show it to Ravindra.
"So I won't mix it up with everyone else's."
no subject
Was this really how people saw him? Uuugh fuck you Heimdall
no subject
"What? It's cute."
no subject
Subject change, let's see--oh, yes, there was one readily available, as a matter of fact. It'd gotten lost in the tide of other more important things, too. "What was the Dark like?" he asked, before Nova could press him.
no subject
His idea of Hell might be a little different than Ravindra's.
"And it's terrifying to move around because you can't see, and I felt like I couldn't breathe but I don't know if that was me or not..."
no subject
He could not stop himself from looking skeptical. A quiet, empty place where no one expected anything of you and you didn't have any obligations to concern yourself with? Yes that sounded just awful. "That's it?" he asked.
no subject
"What do you mean 'that's it?' "
