[Suddenly we have almost the entire cast of the game in the same place at the same time! What does that mean? REUNION THREADS!]

[Basically any characters you'd like to have meeting up in the new, merged Bastan may do so here. Stick a time in your subjectline and if you're doing it on a day other than Sunday (this post is good for all of week 32), add a date tag for it. Go wild!]

[he's not sure what to think. the guy's shown a lot of responsibility with handling the league up til having him quit. but he fucked with Marlene.]

I apparently wasn't for quite some time. I wonder, sometimes, why some of us took longer to wake than others.

I've already exchanged some letters with Ravindra, I can already tell we're very different. [makes her curious what he's like in person]

[why are we talking about Val suddenly? Oh, right, same player as Mal, very different, makes sense.]

You've heard of the trap set upon the Undertow, I presume?

She discovered another being set for the Mazda's army and warned them of it.

[her eyebrows rise at the news] Cor, you mean I've got to thank Val for savin' Lera's life?

It seems that way. She told me about it when she came to ask for training, but I'd already heard rumours.

Wait, Val asked you for training?

Ah, yes. She lost her powers. Had a run-in with Aerveas that nearly killed her. Lera made her a spellsword for the time being, and she requested I teach her some combat spells.

[he pauses]

She's rather... sensitive about it.

[just staring, tbh.]

[she can't imagine how traumatic it must be to 1) get almost-killed by your own guild leader, and then 2) have your powers suddenly revoked]

[of course upon hearing it the first thing marlene wants to do is rush to val and yammer at her about it :|;; ]

Cor... I can't even imagine Val as a spellsword.

Mm, it was... unexpected... [she'd come to him half-frantic. he'd had to calm her down to get her in a proper state of mind to learn.]

She took to it well enough, though once there's a new Vohu I imagine she'll be demanding they return her druid powers to her immediately.

Yeah, spellsword don't suit her too well, I'd say.

[...and she probably can't summon Flambre either, can she? those two were inseparable. that must hurt.]

It was more suited than her other options, but I don't think she'd last the two years. [he gives a wry smile.]

Hah! [sorry val, she can picture you trying and it's disastrous]

Ain't that the bleedin' truth. Probably get run out within the week if'n she tried.

[he snickers and shakes his head.] That was exactly my thought.

[he feels a little bad, though. making fun of Val. she's been through a lot since being kicked out of Days' End, certainly enough to prove she's not as uncaring as he'd thought. trust, though... he didn't think he trusted her.]

[but he's here to see Marlene, not fret about Val.]

[his smile softens.]

I don't have much free time right now, and you're meeting those, ah... [he falters. 'creations' doesn't seem fair or proper. he'd probably feel put off if someone called him a 'creation'] Associates...?

Siblings. [said with a smile and a wink]

Even if Ravindra don't like me callin' it that.

Mm. [noncommittal. he can't consider Valentine his own sibling, not after losing his real sister. and not just because she's missing, but because she had probably never existed, which meant he'd never find her.]

[but if that's the term Marlene wants to use, who was he to deny her that?]

You'll let me know how it goes, won't you?

[he already suspects she will even if he doesn't ask her to.]

You kiddin'? I'll be blatherin' about it for days.

[he chuckles] I thought as much.

[he reaches out to give her a hug]

Write me after your meeting. I've got some things to take care of. Oh, and we'll need to discuss the league's direction later.

[SUPER HUGS MAL]

[tight squeeze and then she pulls back again]

[sudden cold anger and dire seriousness] You're bloody right we will.

[aaand all smiles again] I'll write you after. G'bye, Mal!

[he says nothing at the quick mood changes- this is marlene, after all- instead stifling a chuckle and nodding to her.]
