[Suddenly we have almost the entire cast of the game in the same place at the same time! What does that mean? REUNION THREADS!]

[Here is an open post for all your threading needs! This should make it easier to have mingling threads, open threads, random encounters, multiple participants, etc etc etc]

[Basically any characters you'd like to have meeting up in the new, merged Bastan may do so here. Stick a time in your subjectline and if you're doing it on a day other than Sunday (this post is good for all of week 32), add a date tag for it. Go wild!]

[There's nothing particularly malicious in how she says that, though.

She sighs. Rasmus clearly wants this to be over, and she supposes she should try for him, at least. She's not entirely sure she can fix it, but she's making an attempt? That counts, right?]

You two are my friends, and you are the last people I should be keeping things from.

[ he's conflicted, because it's not really something you go around telling people, either one of those things, is it? you don't go around saying you punched the spenta, you don't got around saying you're living with an assassin- really, rasmus could have done without hearing about either one of those things.

and just when was anais going to tell them without their dragging it out?

well, he didn't know the answers to things like this. he just stood there, arms crossed, shoulders slumped, looking between the two of them wordlessly, wondering if he'd have to break anything up ]

Well, how am I supposed to know if it did?

[She's kind of hesitant about all of this, and it takes her a minute or two before she finally manages to get out:] No one ever kissed me like that before.

[Ravi sets a hand on his back--can't reach his shoulder--in a friendly reassurance.]

The captain is down the street that way. [points] He would appreciate your help, I think.

[you have now been offered an out, Ras. Ravi can handle Anais's dumb ass himself.]

[Really, no obligation to stay if you don't want to. :( No one here is going to be offended.]

Ah... ah? Is that so? Ah, then perhaps I had... I had better go see if he has need of me.

Ah! But it is good to see you two again. [ there's some forced cheer in his voice, but the smile that settles on his face is genuine enough the longer he looks down at them. he salutes to both ] Do take care, Anais, Ravindra. The Spenta has made mention of new patrol routes... ah, perhaps we will hear something soon about that...

[ still feeling awkward, he backs off and heads down the way ravindra pointed him, not quite hiding the sigh of relief as he walks away ]

[Ravi gives a return salute and a half-forced/polite smile of his own in farewell]

[once Ras is gone he turns to Anais again, his expression instantly darkening]

[warning tone] It meant nothing, Vallinar.

[Anais manages a little smile and salute for Rasmus as he heads off before turning back to Ravi.

There's a part of her that wants to protest, to insist that Ravi wouldn't be telling her that if the other person in question wasn't an assassin, but she knows that definitely wouldn't help anything.]

You have nothing to worry about, Savarna. It clearly meant nothing to her, and nothing would come of it even if it did.

[She's just not entirely sure she believes that. Anais is bad at this whole "feelings" thing.]

I only dwell on it because, as I said, no one ever kissed me like that. Apparently, my player felt that was not something I required.

[of course he wouldn't be telling her that if the other person wasn't an assassin! it's the fact that she's an assassin that's the problem here!]

If you want it, find someone else to do it. She's not the only person who's willing to.

[She doesn't want to dwell on it, Ravi. :( She just is.]

I do not even know what I want. That is the problem right there.

Bristol murdered our people. I am not about to turn around and slaughter paladins simply because she would bat her eyelashes at me and attempt to look cute, Savarna.

[he steps forward, getting in her space, and jabs a finger at her sternum]

He did it because assassins found a way to get to him. And if you're not careful, you'll give her the same thing.

[....personal bubble being invaded. It takes most of her self control to not hit his hand to knock him away. She does manage to take a step back, though.]

She does not care enough about me to even try!

[Sigh.]

I understand your concern, but I was nothing more to her than a place to stay. That was it.

[he doesn't close the distance after she steps back, but keeps glaring as he lowers his hand]

She doesn't have to care about you, Anais.

My point was that I am fairly confident she will forget about me entirely the minute she leaves here. You have nothing to be concerned about.

[Meanwhile, note to self: do not go to Ravi for advice about anything ever again]

[that is a pretty sudden escalation of shouting at her. he's angry because he cares, okay]

Don't take that for granted! I don't want you to get hurt because you decided to be naive about this!

[........Ravi's shouting at her. He shouts at Rasmus all the time.

Shouting is how Ravi shows friendship? Messed up, Ravi.]

It does not matter! She will be gone by now. I am never planning on contacting her again, and she cannot be used against me by the other assassins in any way, shape, or form. Why in Xumurdad's name are you yelling at me? There was a time when I would tell you things were fine and you would not question me then. Why is now suddenly different?

I already lost one friend because of assassins!

[That... is a pretty valid point and Anais can't even really be mad at him for that. Damn you, Ravi!]
