[EVENT] - Medena's solstice
Who: Open!
When: Monday the 20th & Tuesday the 21st (post the day in your subject)
Where: The high school football field in Underwood, where Medena resides
Before/After: N/A
Warnings: TBA
[If Marlene has your phone number, consider yourself invited. If she doesn't have your phone number but has met you once, consider yourself run into on the street and then invited. (And then she probably asked for your phone number afterward.)]
[All the real partyin' is gonna be happening from twilight to sunrise, with some inn-owners volunteering the booze (they are not checking IDs ofc), some catering ala monster hunters and the bonfire, and a couple local bands volunteering some music--there's an even split of indie groups from Earth and performers that crossed over from Zen, even a few collaborations between them. Tip them if you like them!]
[This is pretty illegal actually, but nobody's going to try to stop them until the bonfire gets out of control late Tuesday night.]

Craft beer craft beer
the guys who sell equipment to make you are kinda weird
But though your origins are suspicious
I'm sure you'll still be delicious....?
[whew! she puts up the ukulele for a sec and comes up to Irena]
Irena! I am sorry for all of the horrible awkward things I did, hi.
no subject
[Of course, Irena is inching closer to him and looks unhappy. A few moments too late, he realizes that awkwardness is in the air. He stays put by her side, though, because SHE IS A FRIEND and this strange, ukulele-playing Earther is approaching. It's not that it's his not his business, it's just that he doesn't know what to say!]
no subject
Of course the apology is probably as awkward as the song had been and Irena just kind of gapes a moment in surprise before she offers Harriet a short nod. What should she even saaaaaay? She didn't want to be rude! Especially to a guild leader!]
H-hello.
[Weak smile.]
no subject
Hi! Um, how are you? Do you still like Earth? You can go back and forth, right?
no subject
Irena, you know this girl?
no subject
Okay. Yes. Yes.
[Simple answers to simple questions!
She looks up at Bograak, ponders the distance between them (height-wise), then pulls out her cell phone and texts to him instead, because whispering from SO FAR wouldn't be very secretive.
It reads 'She's the Khshathra and she ruined my friend's life! :(']
no subject
A-are you texting to him?
no subject
Irena! You appear to have sent me one of these "text messages" that I was told of! WHat does it--
[He reads it, with a squint.]
Oh. Disregard these actions, young lady! It was sheer coincidence! Ahahah!
no subject
Yes. [Irena looks a little smug though. Nya nya I can hold a private convo right in front of yooooou.]
Why are you singing?
no subject
but does she deserve it? maybe kinda...]
Because there is music in my soul
no subject
[And on the frightful mutant third hand, she's a fucking guild leader.]
The song was enjoyable if a strange way to issue an apology, lady Khshathra!
no subject
[She blinks up at Bograak.]
That... was an apology? [She found it kind of creepy actually.]
no subject
I should try not to apologize via ukulele, it never seems to work out.
no subject
The best way to apologize... [mirthful laughter!] ...is with battle and ale!
[uuuuuuuhhhh]
no subject
[D-did the Khshathra do battle and ale..?]
[She blinks as she looks back to Harriet.]
no subject
The one who offered battle and ale to a "guardsman???"
How'd that turn out, did you have to pay the fine?
no subject
[Oh, THAT. He looks back at Harriet.]
That is correct! At the end of the day, I was let off of the fine. I still think they should have faced me in a trial by combat!
no subject
Earth does not have guardsmen, they have policemen. They charge fines or put you in jail but do not like to fight.
[She in unsure if Harriet is making fun of Bog or not but squints at her suspiciously anyway.]
no subject
I'm
[ummm Irena talks to Nova better not with the real name]
The Khshathra!
no subject
[Bograak frowns at that. Earth's police need to be SUPER COOL damn it, not all business-like and boring. Oh well.]
No matter, though! I am Bograak the Foe-Cleaver!
no subject
no subject
Yeah, football's pretty rough. Or maybe pro wrestling?
no subject
Pro wrestling?
[He taps a finger against his chin, before he looks at Irena.]
After you came to Earth, did you like any particular sport?
[Oooh Harriet, winning points!] The Foe-Cleaver is a name passed on from my father! [Yeah, he's all smiles now. But... guilty look at Irena. SOLIDARITY IS HARD]
no subject
[She is not really a fan of it. Nor of wrestling. She'll let Harriet explain that one, but she nods to Bograak at the question.]
Elegant sports. Figure skating is really pretty. There is no battle in that, though.
[She is giving Harriet the occasional side-eye- YOU BETTER NOT STEAL HER FRIEND, KHSHATHRA]
no subject
Pro wrestling is just people in goofy costumes pretending to beat one another up. Or really beating one another up? It's debated.
