[EVENT] - Medena's solstice
Who: Open!
When: Monday the 20th & Tuesday the 21st (post the day in your subject)
Where: The high school football field in Underwood, where Medena resides
Before/After: N/A
Warnings: TBA
[If Marlene has your phone number, consider yourself invited. If she doesn't have your phone number but has met you once, consider yourself run into on the street and then invited. (And then she probably asked for your phone number afterward.)]
[All the real partyin' is gonna be happening from twilight to sunrise, with some inn-owners volunteering the booze (they are not checking IDs ofc), some catering ala monster hunters and the bonfire, and a couple local bands volunteering some music--there's an even split of indie groups from Earth and performers that crossed over from Zen, even a few collaborations between them. Tip them if you like them!]
[This is pretty illegal actually, but nobody's going to try to stop them until the bonfire gets out of control late Tuesday night.]

[Tuesday!]
Those who approach her might get a special song]

She wore a flowy, short-sleeved dress that draped down to her toes, patterned in green leaves and red flowers, and wandered around staring at everything wide-eyed, carrying Bunny in her arms so he wouldn't get shoved around or lost.
Until she spotted a certain 'player'. Whom she promptly glared at as she passed by. Not only did this girl ruin Nova's past but she'd ruined his guild for him, too! Even if it... wasn't intentional.]

Irena~
I wish you'd give me a chance to explain-a!
I was still trying to figure things out
And I had a lot of questions and I doooubt...
--ted that it was even real!!
But I didn't think about how you'd feel!
When you found out I was lying!!
So I'm sorry for...uh... lying!!
...
That look you're giving me kinda makes me feel like crying!!
[WHY ARE YOU SINGING THE APOLOGY HARRIET THAT DOESN'T COME OFF VERY SINCERE]
no subject
The Earth concept of craft beer deserves a song of its own, bard!
[He waves at Irena too.]
Good day, Irena!
no subject
Her only response:]
Ah?
[Bograak's approach catches her by surprise, mostly because she was so distracted by the confusing song. She looks between the two a couple of times, then settles on peering at Harriet suspiciously while scooting closer to Bog.]
no subject
Craft beer craft beer
the guys who sell equipment to make you are kinda weird
But though your origins are suspicious
I'm sure you'll still be delicious....?
[whew! she puts up the ukulele for a sec and comes up to Irena]
Irena! I am sorry for all of the horrible awkward things I did, hi.

Hope you're having a nice day-uh!
That party sure was a blast!
Too bad about the shattered glass!
It was pretty funny~
But I bet it cost a lot of money~
[Tuesday! - Mal/Marlene]
[He drained his drink while watching people throw offerings onto the fire, being lazy for the time being. As good as he felt, he wasn't really up to prancing around and making a fool of himself (which normally he'd do at the drop of a hat). Ah, but now his cup was empty...]
[He stared into the bottom of it for a moment, debating its emptiness, and then pushed himself up from the ground near Medena to go in search of a refill, wading through the crowd.]
no subject
[and she's not paying attention and walks right into Mal, her drink splashing over the rim to spill on both of them]
Oh, bloody-- [wait, that's jack, urgh] Oh, it's you.
no subject
Sorry, mate- [then he recognizes her]
[Smile gone, replaced by uncertainty- what if he just walked away?]
[But he can't just... keep running from everything. Ugh, awkward.]
Yeah, sorry 'bout that. You uh, need a fresh'n?
no subject
[she glances down at her cup. didn't lose that much, just spilled it on her dress]
Sorry 'bout that, huh? You know, you right fucked Mal, the way you handled him. You sorry 'bout that, too?
no subject
[He turns squarly towards Marlene, shoulders straight (mostly- he has been drinking a while).]
I fucked up. 'm sorry. I dunno how badly since after losin' the servers I ain't really kept track'a anythin' on that side, dunno if there's anythin' I can do 'bout it, but I'm still sorry. That's all I can say.
[He watches her for just a moment before making to move past her, not waiting for a reply. Not expecting forgiveness, not really caring if he got it. He needs a drink.]
no subject
[last thing she expected, given the way he responded last time, was an honest apology with no bullshit.]
[she stares after him for a bit, so her response is delayed]
Well--fine, that's fine. At least you've got the sense to see it.
But it's him you should be apologizing to, it's a different one you owe me.

Monday!
[she's had a few invitations and it sounds interesting, so she checks it out! but it's loud and bright and a little overwhelming. that's okay, she's dealt with this kind of thing before so she might have a couple hours in her to enjoy herself]
[Missie admires the fires and burned an old doll (sacrifiiiiice) for Medena, so now she's got some Medena flowers in her hair, yeah \o/]
[she sips on a fruity drink, but mainly ordered it because it came with a tiny umbrella]
no subject
[Not too worried, Irena wanders the festivities on her own. Probably what stands out most about her is the vibrant, multifaceted gem that rests on the back of her left wrist, held there like a flower by an array of wooden leaves that spirals up her arm.]
[She is playing with it, catching the fire's light in the gem and watching as little specks of colour reflect across the ground, and then up a woman who also has flowers in her hair. Bright-eyed and smiling wide, she offers a wave.]
Hello!
no subject
Hi there!
[And then the gem catches her eye. Aaah. Aaaaaaaaaaah.]
Is...
Is that magic?
no subject
[With a giggle she looks back.]
No. Ah, yes? [pause] The lights are just reflections from the fire but the crystal is magical, yes.
[She holds her hand out for inspection?]
no subject
[Awe and wonder!!]
Where did you get it?

Missie! You came! Cor, it's been a bit, hasn't it?
no subject
Yes! I thought I'd come see what this here was all about.
[she gives Marlene a quick look over. all limbs intact yes good?] You've been well?
no subject
[yes, all limbs intact, and looking super pretty besides]
You try the drinks yet?
no subject
Oh, yes. It's a little loud, but the music isn't bad. And there was some bright orange... sunset... something or other. I don't remember the name. It was pretty good.

Monday!
Call it the fact that albinos are not good with sunlight.
He's currently recognizable from his repair job, however, down to the less-than-perfect hoodie. He'll probably get the oil streaks cleaned out sometime this week...
He's carrying himself a little bit better, though! Alchemist brain makes him feel good about himself. [: ]

[Why not? Good question. Actually, she just came from there, and she's on her way back now. She had to do a liquor run, you see. She's wearing a backpack and it is full of bottles.]
[but on her way back, she catches sight of a vaguely familiar face. or a vaguely familiar demeanor, at least.]
[oh! it's the guy who fixed her phone!]
[she is just drunk enough to think it is a great idea to flag him down]
Oi, you! [She is across the street from him, calling out and waving]
