[Suddenly we have almost the entire cast of the game in the same place at the same time! What does that mean? REUNION THREADS!]

[Here is an open post for all your threading needs! This should make it easier to have mingling threads, open threads, random encounters, multiple participants, etc etc etc]

[Basically any characters you'd like to have meeting up in the new, merged Bastan may do so here. Stick a time in your subjectline and if you're doing it on a day other than Sunday (this post is good for all of week 32), add a date tag for it. Go wild!]

How have you been faring while I have been away?

[paladont]

[he starts to answer, but he's just going to say 'fine']

[he has not been fine at all.]

[instead, he starts walking, motioning for her to come with. it's a pretty relaxed pace, he's not in a hurry. still has to finish his cigarette before he gets there, anyway.]

There was a war.

[that should speak for itself, he thinks]

[Yup. That's Ravi, all right, and she allows herself a little smile. She's gotten better about this!]

So I gathered, but my question asked about you specifically.

[paladont]

[his eyes stay firmly fixed to the ground]

[he inhales the smoke and lets it out slowly, wondering if he should bother answering honestly]

[but everyone keeps asking him to be more honest, so.]

I nearly died. The Spenta healed me.

Rogues raided my room in the barracks and took everything they could sell.

My boyfriend was killed by his player.

[he doesn't look up at her. it's a lot of bad news. he delivers it with a bland kind of melancholy, all of it just dull ache by now]

[he could add in that his player is apparently the vahishta, but he hasn't really processed this yet.]

[Anais' face falls a bit. Now he has even MORE reason to hate players, if a player killed their own character who was apparently Ravi's boyfriend. Not that she knew he even had a boyfriend, really...

Damn, Anais has missed a lot. Of course, Ravi probably wouldn't have told her even if he had. They weren't exactly the closest of people, but... STILL! This felt like it should have been something she should know.]

Ah.

[Anais is not a hugger and she doesn't think Ravi would like that much invasion in his personal space, anyway, so there will be no hugs here from her. Rasmus would have hugged him, she's sure. Though it's strange to her that "hugging" was the first physical response that came to her mind.]

I am glad you are not dead, but I am sorry to hear about the rest. You must miss him terribly.

[it's okay, Anais. there aren't a lot of people he did tell. he's actually talking about it more freely now that Alex is dead because no one can find out about what he was anymore]

Mm. [quiet affirmation. that's really all he can manage.]

How have you been?

Well enough. I have been instructing Earth students in swordplay. Some of them are much better at it than I anticipated they would be.

[She should probably bring up Lynea, shouldn't she? Knowing Lynea, if she sticks around, it'll come out that she was staying with Anais sooner or later. But if she brings up Lynea, does that mean she has to bring up the fact that she kissed her and that Anais still isn't sure what that meant, if anything? She sighs.]

I acquired a roommate. [No, wait, can't forget Tavan if we're being all full disclosure here.] Well, two. One was less irritating than the other.

[paladont]

Ah, really? [he looks up, flashing her a curious look] So we're both instructors now.

[and they have both been instructing the other's player, not that they know that]

[Anais with roommates is difficult to picture. He's not sure what to even say to that, so he just prompts her to continue] Hm?

So we are. [Though Anais took it up to attempt to afford her apartment... Still, she kinds of likes it now. Not that she'll admit it, really.

She hesitates a little before continuing] I do not imagine either will be staying much longer, however. They are not native to Bastan.

[paladont]

Will you move back into the barracks?

[vallinar]

[Huh. Anais honestly hadn't thought about that, and she frowns a little. She honestly thought she'd have to move back to the barracks. The idea of having choices is a strange concept.]

I was unaware we had a choice in the matter.

[paladont]

Ah... [questioning glance] Yes... It just requires permission, I think? [actually he's not entirely sure himself, come to think of it.]

[vallinar]

Hmm. I may ask what that requires. It would be useful information to have, regardless.

[If only because Anais isn't entirely sure how easily she'll adjust to being back in the barracks after having an apartment (mostly) to herself. But, then again, the apartment may get lonely if it's just her there.]

[paladont]

[maybe he could move out... get a place with Rei...] Let me know the answer.

[She pauses, glancing back over at Ravi.]

Are you considering leaving the barracks?

[paladont]

Ah... Well...

[how do you even explain this? 'my boyfriend's girlfriend burned their house down and I think she needs someplace to stay where she's guaranteed not to be alone']

[you don't.]

[lie, instead] My sister could stay with me, that way.

[vallinar]

[That is an acceptable answer. Anais honestly wouldn't have known what to make of the truth.]

How is your sister?

She's fine. [the last time he saw her, she was telling him his boyfriend was dead, though...]

Did you know, she became a messenger for the Mazda? [he can't help it, he sounds proud of her when he says it]

I did not! That is quite impressive.

[Knowing Lera, she probably made friends with Vati really quickly, too.]

[ if the thunderous footsteps didn't clue them in, the sudden bearhug that squished the two of them together and then crushed them was probably a sign that the aforementioned rasmus had found them. ]

Ravindra! Anais!

[ too happy for further words, the big man simply holds them tightly and lifts them off the ground in the process ]

[RASMUS!!]

[initially panic, and then he realizes what's going on when he hears the voice]

[aaa he can't even feel awkward and annoyed about this, it's fucking RASMUS, omg he hasn't seen you in ages you big ox!]

[Wait wa---

Before she realizes what's going on, Rasmus has pulled them both into a ridiculously tight hug. She isn't inclined to hug, ever, but that doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate Rasmus' hugs. Still...]

Rasmus. Air.

[Breathing is a good thing, damn it. :|]

[ anais he's seen around but ravindra he most definitely has not seen around, and seeing both of them at the same time brings back such wonderful memories! ahhh it really is like everything is back to normal!

it's really not anywhere near normal but it doesn't take much to make rasmus feel at home. ]

Ah- ah! Yes, ah, forgive me, Anais.

[ he sets them both down with extra caution before drawing up again. he's back in his breastplate and furred cape and wolf skull pauldron and looking quite pleased with himself. earth fashion simply wasn't for him. ]

Ah! Ravindra! It is very good to see you again!

[paladont]

[yes breathing, that is good, he is good with this]

[but omg ras!!!!!!!! he has been in just the worst mood these past few days and now he feels AMAZING because RASMUS]

[he looks up at Ras, setting a hand on his arm. another hug feels just a little too awkward, but that'll do. he's grinning. not broadly, but the fact that he's grinning AT ALL is pretty indicative of just how happy he is at the moment]

[(makes it pretty easy to see the gap in his teeth that wasn't there the last time Anais saw him, too)]

Rasmus! I missed you!

Yelling at my other friends isn't the same.
